Hinged Pop Up Card

I’m so excited to share this new card fold with you – a Hinged Pop Up Card! It’s fun, elegant, and not hard to make! The Inspiration for this card is from Dawn Griffeth at Dawn’s Stamping Thoughts. You can find her video on YouTube. I’ve changed it up a little and used the elegant die from the Wildflower Designs Dies for the center die cut. The scalloped white border is so pretty around the hinged center piece.

I also used the lovely Sketched Butterflies Bundle and 2024-2026 In Color Designer Series Paper for each of these cards.

First adhere the DSP to the card front (run adhesive along the sides only so the center is free of adhesive). Then die cut out the center using the Wildflower Designs Die. Use liquid glue on the edges of the scalloped frame (I used a sponge) and lay it back inside the card. (See the YouTube video for better detail.)

Turn the card over and adhere a 5 1/2″ x 3/4″ piece of left over DSP across the top of the frame to help hold it in place. (Click below to see the YouTube video for clarification).

You will have these two pieces that will become the piece that is adhered to the mechanism that makes the center move (these are from Peach Pie DSP):

Here’s a picture of the Shy Shamrock card, inside and outside. You can see the strip of DSP running across the top of the inside of the card on the right.
