Have you seen cards made with the Double Vision Technique? This technique is super popular right now and I wanted to learn how to create with this technique! I watched a couple of other demonstrators (Susan Campfield and Mary Knabe) make cards with this technique and wanted to share it with you! I do have an ordering special for you this week and you can read about it at the end of this post!
As you can see it’s all about layering strips at different levels on the front of your card! The typical designer series paper measurement is 4″ x 5-1/4″ so take that and cut it into 1/2″ pieces (1/2″ x 5-1/4″). Make sure you keep your strips in order so you can re-create the picture as it was!
For this technique it’s best to use a designer series paper with a scene. Here’s one I made with the Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper. See how every other strip is raised? It’s very eye-catching! The DSP I used for this horizontal card is 3-3/4″ x 5″ and cut into 1/2″ strips.
The label is from a new bundle that will be available next week called Sweet Words & Labels Dies. And the sentiment is from Phrases & Frames Bundle (Sue Campfield’s one million dollar bundle).
This card was made with the Lovely & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. It’s a vertical card and the DSP is 4″ x 5-1/4″ cut in 1/2″ strips. The label is also from the Sweet Words & Labels Dies.
The card below is the one I made during my Facebook Live. I used a new designer series paper that will be available May 5th called Velvet Meadow. The bundle that goes with it is called Flowering Meadow. I love this suite! I also added a Basic White cardstock layer of 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ under the layer with the DSP strips to help the front layer stand out.
The card below is another vertical card created with the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (it’s on the Last Chance List). I love the soft colors.
